All road borders with Malaysia are at least of a decent standard and all are easily accessible through Thailand on the peninsular West as well as Brunei and Borneo on the East island. An International Driving Permit is required documentation, though a UK driving license is all that is required for British visitors, as long as it is endorsed by the Malaysian Registrar of Motor Vehicles.
